Lafayette 148 NY x Financially Clean Fundraiser Roundup
Our first fundraiser of the year was held this past April during Financial Literacy Awareness Month at the 8th floor concept store of Lafayette 148 NY, a women’s clothing brand based in New York City. As part of the collaborative event, Lafayette 148 NY provided a 10% discount on their spring collection with a portion of the proceeds designated for Financially CLEAN programming and outreach.
Guests were treated to a warm atmosphere of networking, delectable bites, and heartfelt speeches by co-founders Shaun Lynda and Dionne Nicholls as well as those who have been impacted positively by Financially CLEAN’s educational teaching. In addition, co-chairs Sheila Brandenburg and her daughter showcase the latest Lafayette 148 NY fashions and mingle with guests.
Financially CLEAN is appreciative of the support of the attendees, co-hosts and Lafayette 148 NY.
It's Giving Tuesday! Help Support Early Financial Education
Financially CLEAN, is a financial literacy youth program designed to teach high school and college students how to manage, grow and protect their money in a fun, interactive way.
According to a 2014 study by JumpStart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, 95% of high school seniors and 75% of graduating college students in the United States are financially illiterate.
You can join the movement by becoming a volunteer or by giving a donation to help ensure that financial education is a permanent part of the school curriculum, so that every child is financially literate before they apply for their first credit card.

Canada is Living Financially CLEAN -- Congratulations to our Ottawa University Graduating Class November 2016
The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa is pushing the envelope to ensure their students are not only equipped with a good education but the soft skills necessary to succeed in this competitive world we live in. Financially CLEAN is proud to have been part of this important initiative.
Kicking things off with a live podcast taping of our financial show, TWO BLACK GUYS WITH GOOD CREDIT and a 4-week workshop series. We saw students become more empowered in what they considered a safe space to talk about personal finance. Such a humbling and rewarding experience for all.
The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences was on hand for the graduation ceremony to distribute their certificates of completion so they can now officially say the are, "Living Financially CLEAN!"
