WATCH HIGH SCHOOL, CLEAN'S GRADUATING CLASS 2016

When we started this work a year and half ago, our ultimate goal was to see our financial literacy program not only taught in after school programs but in the classroom. I am happy to say we achieved that goal. We are so proud of our first graduating class for 2016 at WATCH High School! It was an emotional and humbling moment on this exciting journey as we push to have every child learn to Live Financially CLEAN.

A special thank you to Annmarie Straker, VP at the Federal Reserve, our lovely keynote speaker, whose inspiring story moved us all.

Blazing a trail...

I had a little moment which turned into a big moment for me. Here I am on set (stay tuned!) with Carol Channing, one of the original writers for Sesame Street, the creator of Oscar the Grouch. Her husband wrote the beloved show's theme song. As I shook her hand I got a little emotional, just a bit overwhelmed, first because Sesame Street was such a big part of my childhood and secondly, because as she shared her anecdotal stories and advice as a pioneer in making education fun, it only further fuelled my fire as we try to create a movement to make learning financial education fun.  A very humbling and inspiring experience.

YouthBuild Program Gives Troubled Youths a Second Chance

James Mackey was part of a gang in Columbus, Ohio. But after losing one brother to gang violence and another to jail, he turned things around. "We are very proud of YouthBuild Lake County for representing all YouthBuild programs, and of YouthBuild Columbus alumnus James Mackey for showing the spirit of our graduates and the ways they are giving back to communities everywhere." says Maria Marrero, Case Management Community Coordinator at YouthBuild USA's New York chapter.
