And the YGB Award Goes to ...

Pursue your purpose! About 4 years ago I decided that the financial knowledge I acquired throughout my personal quest to achieve needed to be shared not just with my kids but to anyone who wanted to listen. I had no motive but the simple belief that we all have a special gift / talent and as humans it is important to share that special gift with the world without concern of personal gain. Share your special talent with the world and you will see how positive the universe will respond!
— Shaun Lynda

Being young, gifted and black is a reward in itself. But it does feel good to be recognised for those traits. At this year's Young, Gifted & Black (YGB) Entrepreneurial Awards, Financially CLEAN's co-founders Shaun Lynda and Dionne Nicholls received the Client Services & Financial Management Award for their work in financial education and management.

Shaun and Dionne also received NYC Mayoral Certificate of Recognition from Mayor Bill de Blasio, Citation from Borough of Brooklyn President Eric Adams, and Certificate of Achievement from New York State Senator Kevin Parker.

An evening to remember made even more memorable when Two Black Guys with Good Credit co-host, the Lady with the Facts, Dionne got engaged in a surprise marriage proposal in front of 300 guests.

The Young, Gifted & Black (YGB) Entrepreneurial Awards program places an emphasis on individuals that continued to reach levels of success through hard work and determination.

The event took place Wednesday, February 27th 2019 at 6PM, 26 Bridge, 26 Bridge Street Brooklyn New York.
