Financially CLEAN teaching CitySquash Students at Fordham University

We both looked at each other at the same time and said, "Wow!  This is a gorgeous campus."  Fordham University has a beautiful sprawling campus tucked away in the Bronx just walking distance from what the natives of the area would call, 'The REAL Little Italy", across from the The New York Botanical Gardens and just blocks away from The Bronx Zoo.

You can't help but feel inspired to learn in such an environment and the teens that participate in CitySquash's Summer Day Camp are fortunate enough to be exposed to this college atmosphere at such a young age.  Financially CLEAN has had the pleasure of partnering with CitySquash this summer to teach financial literacy within their very rigorous college prep program and we are having a blast! The students bring the same game face from the courts to the classroom ready to absorb the knowledge to start living Financially CLEAN.

Blazing a trail...

I had a little moment which turned into a big moment for me. Here I am on set (stay tuned!) with Carol Channing, one of the original writers for Sesame Street, the creator of Oscar the Grouch. Her husband wrote the beloved show's theme song. As I shook her hand I got a little emotional, just a bit overwhelmed, first because Sesame Street was such a big part of my childhood and secondly, because as she shared her anecdotal stories and advice as a pioneer in making education fun, it only further fuelled my fire as we try to create a movement to make learning financial education fun.  A very humbling and inspiring experience.
